Good stop to taste and experience coffee. New owner is trying to raise the level of the entire farm and is doing a good job.

The coffee is great and the guide did a great job of explaining the coffee process. It seems pretty straight forward, but there are a lot more details than I had thought before. The tour isn't long, but it is pretty interesting. I did learn...More

This place is a hidden gem above 3000 feet on the Big Island. They do a nice job educating visitors about the whole process from plant to cup. You get to see the sorting and roasting process up close and free tastes of different varieties....More

This place offered a free tour and you can't beat that price. We were able to learn a bit about growing and picking the coffee beans and were able to see the machines used to separate the coffee beans. We even got to hear the...More

Decent tour and explanation of coffee grading and the Kona bean is produced. Shows some sorting equipment - knowledgeable tour staff. 30 minutes for the tour and then you can shop for very expensive and exclusive coffee. Also sell trinkets, mugs and some preserves.

This was a great time filler and would be for anyone looking to take a beautiful drive up the mountain and learn something about Kona coffee. At the plantation, you get like a 10-15 min tour and history on how the plantation came to be,...More

We visited Thunder Mountain Coffee and took a VIP tour. The tour focused mostly on the plantation and how the coffee is grown and harvested. It was amazing to be among the coffee trees and see the various stages of the coffee "cherries". Our tour...More

This was a relatively close place - right near the airport - and up 3000 ft! It is a very casual "tour", but the nice man told us about coffee growing, ripening, picking, roasting and all the steps in between. There were a couple of...More

We finally found this place, beautiful drive to get there and had a nice little tour from the informative guide which just took place right next to the small gift shop but still learned things we did not know before. But were not happy to...More

Thanks Larry - what is the difference between the regular tour and the VIP tour?

I'm not completely sure. We went on the regular tour which is free, about 1/2 hour, and goes through the building where they sort and roast the coffee beans. I believe the VIP tour actually takes you through the farm area.
