Come visit the Anna Ranch Heritage Center which offers insight to the rich history of ranching and the paniolo on the Big Island. The lush green hills of Waimea offer a beautiful back drop to the unique story of Anna Leialoha Lindsey Perry-Fiske who was known as the “First Lady of Ranching“ in Hawaii. As one of Hawaii’s finest Pa’u riders, an award winning jockey and one who could throw amazing social events to raise funds for the community, Anna’s story will leave you amazed and inspired. Born in 1900 and living to the age of 95, Anna lived a long exciting life. Prior to her death she placed her ranch in a trust so that the history of ranching in Hawaii would be shared with future generations.Listed on both the National and State registers of historic places, the ranch is a one of a kind attraction. Visitors may tour the spectacular and expansive gardens as well as the fourteen room historic ranch house with a treasure trove of Hawaiian koa furnishings, artifacts and fine millinery.

My husband and I visited the ranch today. Although we were unknowingly late for the morning tour, we were given a private tour. The docent Barbara was amazing! We were so caught up in the story of Anna's life, that we were asking questions the...More

Along with being a historical site, the ranch is well manicured and a joy to walk thru. It truly feels like walking in Old Hawaii. Breezy with views of the Kohala Mountains makes this place worth the stop. It was rewarding to learn about Anna...More

Right off the highway. We lucked -- we happened to be there between group tours, but the guide was nice enough to give us an individual tour.

Our fabulous docent, Barbara, was so knowledgable about Anna, her family, the ranch, and ranching practices in Hawaii that it brought the history and the place to life. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This is a talk-oriented rather than an action-oriented venue,...More

There is a lot of history here, and hidden waterfalls for a truly atmospheric Hawaiian hike. Picnic tables. Beautiful gardens, a stream. Not what you would think just driving by.

I was here for a conference. Right out side the windows were steep hills, remnants of cinder cones. Not to forget the babbling brook. Sheep grazing in the hills were a nice touch!
