Nice little family beach right next to Pu'ukohola Heiau. After you check out the Heiau, go over to the beach to cool down. Very relaxed - lots of families having picnics. Good shower facilities and changing room too.

The water is conducive for young children to swim. No strong hinder currents and easy to get to No climbing necessary to set up for panic and camping.

Close to a Historic park, Pu'ukohola Heiau, Spencers Beach has good bathrooms, BBQ facilities, had both sun and shade, good for families with it shallow waters. It is easily accessible and one can walk along the shore to access other beaches.

Don't know for sure. If the rocks are light in weight and shiny-black, they're lava. Heavy black rocks may not be or may be lava based.
