It definitely felt more like an experience than a tour. We were never rushed for time and the passion with which our guide spoke about the valley, its history and culture, was inspiring. My wife remarked that it was like we were talking to a...More

I was visiting Hawaii with my fiancee and his family. His family has been to Waipio Valley a few times, while this was my first time, and we are all in agreement that this tour was absolutely perfect. We wouldn't change a thing about it!...More

Makano, thanks for a great tour of your family Taro plantation and the Valley. It was great to see some of the same fruit trees, vegetation and surrounding as those in Panama. Continued success with your business!!

Let’s be honest, we travel for food! If you want a taste of the real Hawaiian farm life, forego the big commercial outfitters and take this family owned and operated tour where you can plant and harvest taro, and see all kinds of organic fruits...More

Enlightening, entertaining and educational. Easy way to get to back of canyon with a Wai’pio resident who knows history, taro farming and subsistence living in the lush valley of the king. Up close look at falls, fresh fruit and homemade poi. A must do.

Makana met us in Honokaa and drove us down into 'Waipio Valley' and onto his families taro farm. There we learned about the Hawaiian history and actually pulled taro! We got to taste it too! Makana made us feel at home in 'his valley home'....More

This was by far the highlight of our trip to the Big Island. Grandparents, children, and grandchildren were all delighted to participate in the education we received about the life and culture of the Waipio Valley from Uncle Morgan, Keanu, and Scott. The small tour...More

Hmmm, I am not sure. I made our trip reservation fairly last minute - I left them a message on the main number, and got a call back from a different number to set everything up. I say try calling again!
