It was July in 93F heat at the beach and we needed to cool down in the afternoon. The Mauka Meadows is in the mountain above Kona. Ah, what a nice place to get away from the heat. Its almost free. The gardens are fabulous, there was a nice lady that gave us a coffee near a superb artificial pond... More

This is a great garden to visit. Very well kept with great views out across the Pacific. Excellent free coffee at the infinity pool. Steep walk, but well paved. Grannies biscuits

We went in 2013 and were eager to revisit in Nov. 2016. They now request a $5 donation on the honor system at the entrance. At this time they had pruned some of the foliage and it wasn't as lush as before. Yet it was still very worthwhile if you like gardens. Halfway down the hill is the Doutor coffee... More

I was really conflicted how to rate this attraction. Mauka Meadows is owned by Doutor Coffee, a publically held Japanese retail company with over 1,200 worldwide outlets, Is Mauka Meadows a Japanese garden or a coffee plantation? Doutor opened this plantation in 1991 as a showcase. It’s marketed as a coffee plantation and that’s how I ultimately decided to rate... More

This is a beautiful coffee farm! From the parking lot, you take a winding stroll down through the farm passing by amazing flowers and citrus trees. Then you come to the incredible infinity pool which has a beautiful view of downtown Kona. Set back and enjoy the scenery while sipping on some wonderful coffee. Afterwards, you can walk back uphill... More

The walk takes you downhill through an amazing garden with great views of the distant ocean. While it's a bit of a trek, you're going downhill so it should not be difficult for most. Once you arrive, you sit by an infinity pool (the biggest on the Big Island) and taste their amazing coffee! Aimed at the Japanese market whose... More

This was a little gem we found while visiting. You walk down the hill through beautiful gardens and then WOW what a view. The samples of coffee are delicious we had to bring some home for everyone! We took pictures and folks that it was a backdrop it was so beautiful.

This Japanese Garden is awe and amazing. It is clean and beautiful. It is not as crowded as other gardens so you have the freedom to do everything you want, taking photos with amazing views, pick and enjoy different fruits like citrus, guava, fig, loquat and much more. You'll experience the feeling of being in Hawaii of being here. There... More
