Beautiful gardens

Stopped here after a bite at Hilo Bay Cafe just across the street. It was a beautifully maintained green space with stunning Japanese features.

Take a stroll through the gardens and just enjoy slowing down and smelling the hot wet air. If you have time to take a walk, this is a great place directly adjacent to Hilo Bay under the banyan trees. Make sure to go out to Coconut Island also.

A trip to Hilo is not complete unless you go to the park. It is a very Serene place that is just really nice to be at.

This park is beautiful. It is the largest Japenese Garden this side of Japan. The area itself is historical. A tsunami came through this area and wiped out the homes in this area back in the 1960's. That is actually how's it became a park. You can still see the foundations from the houses that were swept away. There is... More

Looking for a garden, we found this place. It is a shady, grassy expanse with meandering walks around water features, among large banyon trees. It is a quiet,  peaceful place. At the north end it is a walk through a Japanese garden. and across a bridge to Moku Ola island. While there we saw spear fishermen hunting for  their catch,... More

Found this park by pure chance when our grandson needed a place to run around in after sitting nicely in a restaurant for 1.5 hours. Beautiful park to walk around, bridges to cross, beautiful trees and flowers

My wife and I had a nice afternoon walk through the park and gardens. Beautiful banyan trees, bamboo, bridges, birds.... the grounds are nicely maintained. Quiet and relaxing place. Highly recommend it.

Liliuokalani Park and Gardens is in Hilo which has the most precipitation in United States. Warm weather plus abundant rainfall makes this park so beautiful and green. The park is sitting along eastern coast. You can seeboth ocean and garden. Trees in park are huge, there are Zen-style statues, Japanese pavillion and washroom in the park. after embarking from the cruise ship, we were a group of 7 and we found a nice driver with a van that for a very reasonable fee took us all the way to see that part of hilo: the botanical garden, the Akaka falls, the Rainbow falls , and via the Banyan tree road back to the ship.
