Come & see lava up close & personal with experienced hawaii...

Come & see lava up close & personal with experienced hawaii volcanologist! Aloha! Mahalo for choosing ‘ahiu hawaii for your real lava adventure!! We have two different tour times. One at 9:00am and the other at 4:00pm. The price is $137 per person, which we provide a backpack, snacks, water, headlamps, backup headlamps, gloves and also a stick to walk with but also to interact with the lava! We hope you care about your safety. Cause your safety is our #1 priority! Our tour groups are small which we never book no more than 10people per tour guide for safety and personalism. Plus all of our guides know what's going on about the lava and will safely get you there! The hike distance to the lava changes from day to day.

We thought about hiking to the lava flow that enters the ocean, but thankfully we chose to rent bikes from the Ahiu Hawaii booth. Super friendly, fitted us to a bike of our choice, provided snacks, water, helmets. Gave us their cell phone number to call if we had any problems during our trek. Great experience, despite the fact we... More

We decided to walk down to this bike rental location instead of another one because of the other reviews. It was so awesome to meet people that were from our same area in Florida. They were very kind and informative and the bikes were awesome! We rode down to the farthest point where you are allowed to view the lava.... More

We rented bikes to ride four miles to see the lava on the south side of the Big Island. We discovered that it's actually cheaper to rent in person than to make a reservation which was sort of disappointing. They did offer water and a whole grain bar, but no bike lock which was annoying since it looked like every... More

An amazing hike over lava fields up to actively flowing lava! Strenuous hike but worth it for the experience. The guides were very knowledgeable and fun to travel with. I highly recommend!

A hay ride 2 miles then a bike ride 2 miles to see Lava forming brand new Earth!?!. It's very hard to put into words. It's a definite, definitely must if visiting the big Island of Hawaii!!!!! Excellent! Wow.

We had such a great trip with our guide Matt. Our bike then hike to an amazing lava flow was an experience we will never forget. The heat out there is intense so despite being avid hikers and runners, being able to drive in 2 miles then bike to the end of the road left us with enough energy to... More

I was visiting the Big Island with three other people specifically to see the ocean entry point of the lava flow from Kilauea. We stumbled upon the access road from the Kalapana side and even though we had planned on hiking the access road at dusk to see the lava a night we realized the bike ride wouldn't be too... More

This trip was the highlight of my trip. It's actually hard to reach the company on phone, I was lucky they picked up my phone on first time. But after that they never picked my phone. I mostly exchanged emails with them, they were pretty prompt and informative on emails though. So as such I didn't had problems booking the... More

Let me start off by saying, we did this back in May 2016 so it could be a bit different now. We hiked for almost 4 hours (round trip). It was hot, sticky and messy. I struggled a bit because for some reason, I am mud-prone but I took it on. Seeing the lava flow was well worth the hike... More
