Very nice to see such a beautiful old theatre, really beats the modern no character place. Still need lots of work but the committee will get there in time. It will be something special when it gets finished

The old theater is still grand with a patina that has to be earned. We were there for the Nutcracker and it was filled with families and the theater seemed epic; ageless. Sure it needs AC and some renovation but it is priceless.

and definitely avoid if you are a larger person, my SO hated, loathed, deplored every time he had to squeeze into the tiny cramped seats. a great venue, but hot and crowded.

This place is a gem! Great art house cinema! They also have live music acts etc... a great part of Hilo history. Highly recommend!
