Located on the UW campus, this is a nice diversion that allows you to spend 30 minutes to an hour gazing at dinosaur artifacts and learning a little natural history. I know many people's favorite exhibit is the interactive sand pit where you create terrain that is automatically overlaid with contours and displayed on a screen. It is quite fun,... More

We visited this museum with young kids who were fascinated by the life size T-Rex displayed out in the front of the building. This, in addition to the other dinosaur skeletons displayed inside and the kid friendly displays make the museum fascinating for all ages. Visiting the museum you're not inundated with people or lines and can study each display... More

Overall, really good. Packed with fossils, activities, and information. For the little space it is, it packs quite a punch. However, having come here for over a decade, not much changes. There is some outdated information still up, various typos and spelling mistakes in exhibits, and some of these exhibits haven't changed since I was 6. It's a fun 30-60... More

The University of Wyoming is a beautiful campus. We know this because we spent some time yesterday searching for the Geologic Museum. We didn't find any buildings with markings for the museum or museum parking. We called the phone number listed on TripAdvisor and there was no answer or message about the museum. We checked the hours on TripAdvisor and... More

Don't want to oversell this museum -- it's just a few rooms -- but if you're into paleo stuff, you'll probably find a lot of great stuff in this small space. If you stay at the Hilton Garden Inn and take a walk across campus, drop in. You might be surprised at what you'll find. Some full-sized dinos, and lots... More

This museum is situated right on the UW campus. Enjoy walking through the more than 100 year old facility and enjoy the architecture along the way. The actual museum is small, but chock full of great exhibits. They currently have a dynamic sand projection which I can barely tear my children from. If you just happen to be cruising around... Our multi-generational family of 7 ages 7-63 enjoyed this stop on a trip from Denver to Jackson, WY. Laramie is a real deal, old west town and the Geological Museum is a great place to visit and stroll around the area. It's especially a nice spot to get the kids out of the car without going too far off the... More

This was one of my most insightful visits whilst in Laramie and we actually got the chance to speak to a scientist working in a lab. Very welcoming considering we interrupted them!
