Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The trail does climb pretty steadily so bring enough water as you will be exerting some energy. It's a beautiful hike and it smells great too!

Easy walk in to the falls. Trail continues up to the Continental Divide Trail up the Encampent River.

The trail can be found just before you get to the small bridge that crosses the Encampment River on forest road 550...about two miles down from the Highway 70...there is a small parking area there. The first part of the trail is a very rough four-wheel drive road for about two miles...mainly uphill thru a forested area...very beautiful and quiet. The real trail to the falls is after the two mile mark...it will be another mile to the falls (as so the signpost says)...we didn't make it to the falls...we went in early June when there was quite a bit of water everywhere. When we got to the last mile, so much water was flowing and flooding a large swath we could not continue...we didn't come prepared to wade thru the swampy mud and icy cold water or take a chance we'd take a fall and get totatlly drenched. I woud suggest to go later in the summer. Nevertheless, the hike was beautiful and, when we went, very quiet and serene.

Wildflowers and great views. Bring your hiking boots definitely for hiking no canes etc. creeks and old cabin along the trail!

On this trail you will see beaver ponds, lots of wildflowers (luckily for us it was a wet spring), white water, aspens, waterfall, etc. It rolls up and down and is never too steep so it will accommodate a range of stamina levels. When you drive to the trail head, you get to a small clearing to park where there is a sign saying four wheel drive recommended beyond this point. It should say REQUIRED and it should also say you need high clearance. Do what most people do and stop here and hike to the trail head. It does basically double the hike but when you walk on the road you will be happy you did not try to drive it.
