Visited in April, before the Park roads were open but when the weather was starting to warm up. Walked along the shore with my children and couldn't hear anything except the wind. Absolutely beautiful. We were the only ones on the reservoir. . . felt completely alone.

This is another undervalued reservoir next to Yellowstone National Park. The colors were amazing and the lake was fabolous! A must see attraction on the way to Cody! :-)

I've driven by this beautiful lake many times and it's always a scenic view. It looks like a great place for boating and has spots one could pull over for and enjoy picnic. Right on the scenic road to Yellowstone just 6 miles from Cody.

Water levels were low in this fall and due to the fires in the area (they were using water out of the reservoir to help control the fires). It is on the way to Yellowstone, so worth a look.

I'm a local to the area. My state tax dollars fund parks as such. If you even dare to traverse without paying a fee of $4.00 just to use the bathroom once, you could be facing a steep fine. The park ranger is always on the prowl for potty seekers. Beware poopin pals...your number 2 will cost you. The facilities... More

We spent time here just enjoying the scenery. It was a beautiful morning but too cool for any water activities. There were lots of waterfowl to enjoy.

After visiting the state park and the dam we ventured on to the reservoir. At the information center you are given the specifics of the reservoir and ample viewing time. It was breath-taking. The water was still like a glass image until a boat interrupted the silence. This is a place where you can sit all day and do nothing!!

Great place to catch rainbow trout. Gorgeous up near the dam by boat. It looks pretty desolate from the road but is quite nice from a boat and just loaded with rainbow trout.

never heard of this dam. But got a lot of respect of the workers in the 19th century, visit the visitor center, just park on the carpark beside the dam and they pick you up for free in a small car and bring you to the dam and back again

Thank Normann
