Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Small museum with some interesting history. We are a family of 5, and it cost $48. A bit pricey for the size. The main room was for their annual art sale. Although impressive, we weren't interested in buying anything and has nothing to do with the central theme of the museum. If you are interested in purchasing art, this is certainly the place and time to go. The children's area is outdated and simple. On the dry erase board, the only activity listed was from about 6 weeks ago. This space could be renovated to be a great children's area. I would recommend looking into what other museums have done to capitalize on this market. We were in the museum for just over an hour. Everything was clean and all staff were amazingly friendly.

My husband and I thought since we were in Cheyenne for an afternoon, we should visit this museum. Nicely set up. We very much enjoyed the stagecoaches exhibit. Unfortunately, we know nothing about rodeos and the like and not fans, so if you're like us, this museum may not be your cup of tea. If you like that kind of stuff, then be sure to visit. There were no live rodeos going on when we were here, so only the physical museum to visit. We got through it all in under an hour.

We spent several hours in The Frontier Days Old West Museum. There is lots of information regarding past Cheyenne Days Rodeos. There are old stage coaches, horse dawn wagons, art works, photos, etc. Also there is a good video of some of the Rodeo competitions.

We went primarily for the Western art show, which was fabulous. They usually host the art show in conjunction with Cheyenne Frontier Days, as I understand it. Since we had paid the admission, we also toured the museum. If you've attended Frontier Days (and even if you haven't), the displays are interesting. It is all very well done, with a lot to see and learn.

Having been brought up watching westerns and going to small rodeos near home, I had no idea the culture of the Cowboy. I have always held them in high respect because of their endurance, physical prowess and how hard they work for something so loved by them ...and us looking in from the outside.

A bit disappointing. We thought “the Frontier Days” would be a museum of the old western frontier days.
It was mainly about modern day cowboys on bucking horses and bulls. Very little else.
However they are renovating and upgrading so a lot was closed off or empty. And they gave us reduced price entry tickets

Super cool museum about Cheyenne frontier days rodeos and largest coach/buggy collection in America. $10 per person to get in. A real taste of rodeo life. Very nice place to spend about an hour in.

We stopped here while in Cheyenne and glad we did. The building seems to be on a rodeo or fairgrounds but is very clean. The inside rooms are full of memorabilia from the Cheyenne Days events and the people associated with the celebration. The various wagons and coaches are meticulously refurbished and their display is great. This is a great way to learn about Cheyenne Days.

We paid our admission at the door; didn't purchase through third party vendor. We spend a few hours at this location. Thoroughly enjoyed it and we are not 'ardent' rodeo fans. Lots of western history here and a very extensive collection of wagons. If you go, take time to watch the video from start to end (approx. 20 minutes). Staff was very friendly.

Fun to see the antique artifacts from the 19th century and early 20th century. Excellent movie on rodeos and the death by goring of one of the most outstanding riders. Yo will probably spend less than an hour.

This Museum has a general admission charge (over 12 years old) of $10/person. Seniors & military are $9/person. Children ages 6-12 are $5/person and the Museum is free to people under the age of 6.
Hope this helps!

Yes, it is. But, it is over for the year. If you google it, you can find out the dates for next year. It's always at the end of July. We took our daughter's chair cause there is alot of walking, & it really came in handy. We spent the Sat. watching the Rodeo & they were nice & gave us seats in the shade so Julie wouldn't be sitting in the sun.

Yes. It is inside the museum and around the statues outside.
The parking lot is hard packed gravel

I am not positive but unless it is a service dog I don't think dogs are allowed. The same would be true for the trolley history tour. I would suggest you call to verify if dogs are allowed inside.

I viewed the site and wanted to ask if there were any activities that me and my group could attend in the month of October ( mid October ).
But alas, in this modern technological world, there was no email address provided for an overseas potential visitor to seek information. There is a local phone number and address.
What I would like to know is if, in the 15 or 16 October, when I am visiting Cheyenne, would I be able to attend a rodeo activity?
Maybe other trip advisor members could assist.
Thanks. NK Chan

I didn]t see anything either. I know mid July they have rodeos for the Frontier Days. I suggest you do a search in the surrounding areas within a few hours of Cheyenne. I flew into Denver Colorado when I was out that way this summer , hit the Rockies and came back through Cheyenne to fly home out of Denver . Maybe Denver Co or Scottsbluff Nebraska would have something .
