Wyoming and particularly Casper were the site of many historical events and occurrences you'd likely never have guessed. Fort Caspar Museum and Historic Site offers a fascinating historical perspective, and the museum, while small, has so much information to be learned.

Nice museum, pleasant grounds, good reconstructions, and fine reenactments on special occasions. My cousin and grandson got to play on the team against the Galvanized Yankees in a baseball game with rules circa 1870. The GYs were TERRIBLE ball players but wonderful hosts. Regular day...More

Good stop for something to do if you have time to review the history of Fort Casper. The grounds look pretty old and I am sure a small fee is required to walk it.

This was a great way to spend some time learning about the history of Wyoming, and we enjoyed the gallery and touring the reconstructed sites.

If you're looking for a destination to occupy an hour or two, this place can be it. It's nothing special, as the indoor exhibits are dated and locally focused. The outdoor exhibit is the best, a recreation of the fort.

This fort is located on the west end of Casper. There is a visitors' center in front and the old fort buildings in the rear. It's very much like other forts we have visited around the west from the same era. There is no wall...More
