Incredible photography. His original work area and tools he used are displayed. Informative. Was actually the 14 year old's suggestion to check it out. Wasn't disappointed.

Located on the main strip---it's hard to believe that there is something in the Dells that is FREE! Combining advancements in technology with a love for natural landscapes, photographer H.H. Bennett captured the images that made 'the Wisconsin Dells famous. Owned and operated by the Wisconsin Historical Society, this facility has something for everyone. It’s well laid out and easy... We stopped to see the H.H. Bennett Studio in Wisconsin Dells and received quite a pleasant surprise. The admission was free, the museum attendants were very welcoming. They seemed very glad that we had stopped by. There are a lot of interesting science and history exhibits that go along with the photography. A woman came up to my husband and... More

A great museum dedicated to an early photojournalist. Well worth a visit - and in 2016 it is free due to a grant they received.

If the history of Wisconsin Dells ever intrigues you, make sure you visit this (free) museum located on the downtown strip. It's a neat little museum that captivates the history of Wisconsin Dells and why it became such a tourist mecca. You will learn more about the man behind it all, HH Bennett and even get to see actual artifacts... More

A hidden gem in the Dells. I've seen some of his pictures hundreds of times, but never thought much about it. We stumbled in here accidentally and there's a very nice little museum dedicated to H.H. Bennett. Very intersting exhibits. Creative displays of his photos as well as a interesting information throughout the self paced tour. Free to all, but... More

Learned a lot about the development of the Dells, history of photography, and enjoyed the magnificent photos taken by H.H. Bennett. Wonderful experience. Best part of downtown. The staff was awesome, interesting and super friendly. Even the gift shop is wonderful! My advice? Buy the $1.00 grab bags as gifts for your children's friends. When we arrived back home to... More
