Great place to wander and enjoy nature. Watch the local media to find out when they offer the free color tour in the fall!

Rib Mountain State Park has in effect been sold to a downhill ski resort owner and to communication tower companies. There were once two campground areas. both have been eliminated to make room for ski runs and towers. There are hiking trails but they are pooorly maintained, probably because of funding cuts to the State D.N.R. It's sad to see... More

I meet my friend here regularly to walk around the park as well as through the woods to get exercise. I really like coming here. It's beautiful + great place to exercise. They also regularly have concerts as well. Always enjoyed my time here.

When I went to Rib Mountain, we drove up the mountain, but they do have an excellent, paved walking path. The ski lifts were not operational as skiing season was over, but the facility and equipment looked good. It's a beautiful area and more to explore, when I get the time!

Go visit. Just do it. Beautiful trails and views. Well kept while still being very natural. I only wish some of the trails didn't have the asphalt poured, most of them don't but I'm always sad when I see that. It actually makes it harder to hike.

We live just a few miles from the park and have been going there as long as we've lived in the area, which is nearly 30 years. Rib Mountain is one of the highest hills in Wisconsin. It is a quartzite monadnock covered with dense stands of mostly hardwoods--maples, birches, oaks, etc. There are many marked hiking trails. Some involve... More

Rib Mountain State Park is a beautiful area. There is a side walk/trail that leads you up from the foot all the way to the summit. In the fall, the scenery is breathtaking. There is a food counter open during the summer months and vending machines are available. There are about a gazillion walking paths and trails on both sides... More
