This was one of the most interesting places that we have toured. Often you only get to see the main floor. In this mansion, we saw all three floors, plus the cupola and the basement. Almost every room was available. The stairs are narrow and it may be a difficult climb for those not used to stairs. The furnishings were... More

Really a unique house and the guide will answer any questions you ask her, she is very knowledgeable. It is a real experience to learn the history of the owners and how they lived. The house itself is the main attraction with the first kindergarten building in the back yard and a barn with more history. If you like history... More

From my research on a Wisconsin trip, I learned of this historical spot, and we included it on our schedule. It is worth the time and effort. Watertown is an interesting town, and I recommend a visit

This is an interesting tour, but be aware that it involves a lot of steps. Not good for small children, strollers or those with problem going up and down steps. It's also VERY warm and stuffy in the house. It has a nice gift shop.

Architect amazing. Historically interesting. Who builds something like this? Make sure you see the miniature outside.

Octagon House is not only a unique structure for the area, but the grounds are also home to the nation's First Kindegarten. Watertown played an important role in the early days of WI. Please come & learn more. I enjoy history & architecture, so this is a place I like to take friends visiting my area. Kids learn much about... More
