Great Skiing. Accomadations?

We like many others there this past weekend used a Groupon. For someone who has skied the Midwest 3 times in over 30 years, but has skied the Rockies and Northeast mountains I was... read more

Cold pool, hot tub not working, only two aging groomers for the entire mountain that did nothing to improve the skiing, no dinner served, lunch at the lodge was a choice of brat, hotdog or nachos, no maid service, refrigerator with last guest's food still in it, few working channels on 19" TV, vhs deck, no wifi (as advertised), dirty... Booked through groupon. Followed there website for whether and snow conditions. Drove 3 hours to get there, checked in to an upgraded room. Later to discover they upgraded our room because they weren't going to open the pool. Come to find out we were the only people there. Confined to our room, no cell resection, the vhs tapes to play... The skiing was great and the workers were super friendly. The pool and hot tub were great. The rooms were somewhat outdated, but were very clean. I will be back for sure!

So friken good! If you love powder there is plenty of it, no lines, no people (10 skiers plus workers), endless options, variety, and perfect conditions. #butterfordays

We arrived at Whitecap Mountain and from the start it was a giant disappointment. The rooms "heater" doesn't make the room warmer than 50 degrees and it's negative 9 degrees outside. The TV doesn't work, the room is so dated it has a VHS player in it and doesn't look like it has any work done to it since the... More

We like many others there this past weekend used a Groupon. For someone who has skied the Midwest 3 times in over 30 years, but has skied the Rockies and Northeast mountains I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the skiing. The runs were far longer than I imagined, the terrain was challenging enough albeit in short spurts and... More

Spent the whole week here as a 6 bedroom, ski in/out (Hander House) is hard to find. As we had little ones, we spent most of our time on the beginner and intermediate hills. They were groomed daily, but the most used run, Davos, was a bit icy in spots. The easiest hills had flat spots that required x-country type... More

Even though there wasn't much snow initially, we were still able to do runs with man made snow. Our last day it snowed and there were many more runs open. Few lines and beautiful scenery

Best kept ski area in the upper mid-west. Finally a place to ski that isn't groomed to death. Just outside the lake effect snow but still gets plenty of powder. Best lifties in the business as well. On a sunny days you get views of Lake Superior.

There are 4 in our family. Our 2 sons are beginning skiiers and my husband and I are intermediate (we don't do double black diamonds!). This place offered a great ski time for us because the green and blue runs were perfect for our sons and the hills were long enough to have fun and explore skiing. We were there... More
