An undeveloped treasure

Wisconsin Point and it's lighthouse is a neglected treasure. Home to many unique species including the Bald Eagle. This is a place with many fond memories for me...

I brought my teenage daughter and her friend to the point, hot day and a dip in the lake sounded good. Clean beach. Not as busy as Park Point in Duluth, MN. No permanent bathroom there, but they did have an outhouse if needed. The girls and I walked out on the rocks/pier to get to the lighthouse. Many other... More

This was very cool to see, but we wish we could of gotten closer to the lighthouse. You can see that there used to be a pier that went out to it but has been removed.

This is a great location with beach, prairie and woods. There are Native American Burial Grounds, too. The lighthouse involves crossing a lot of rocks to get to it. It's a nice view, if you decide to do it. The point overall is lovely and has beautiful nature to enjoy. You can see across to Duluth.

Long rough road to get there and it's locked so you can't go inside but it's still kinda cool to see. Wish they could find the money to restore but can't have everything.

This lighthouse was remote and hard to get to. But it was worth the drive. Cool to see with a very beautiful setting with great views of Duluth and Superior. No path to the lighthouse.

Well worth the walk out to the lighthouse but it was a challenge to climb over all the big rocks to get to it. There is no walk way or board walk just giant rocks but it was a great time.

The description of walking path is a bit deceiving. Be prepared to walk over a long span of rocks. It was very cool once we made it there, but for a nervous mom of an overactive 8-year-old boy I was glad to get back to the shoreline. It was a super windy day and even more windy once we made... I usually visit Wisconsin Point Lighthouse at least once a year, whenever I head to the North Shore! It is beautiful in February when it is well below zero, and it is equally beautiful in the Summer & the Fall. While the lighthouse is off the beaten path and Mocassin Mike Road is very bumpy and has several potholes my... More

This is worth the venture off the beaten path to trundle down the fearsomely bumpy Moccasin Mike road. Don't mind the many garbage trucks spewing along. The highest point in Douglas County, the landfill, needs to be built ever higher so it can be made into a ski resort complete with its own methane gas generated heating system. After touring...
