The generosity and cooperation to donate items that unfold the story of Door County citizens is admirable. This little museum is more than something to amuse yourself on a rainy day. It is one of those small gems that surprises and delights. Why is the...More

Something for everyone. The short videos of the history of the area and the residents were interesting. Lots of fun memorabilia. Be sure to check out all floors. Not all exhibits apply only to Door County - many are examples of times past.(clothing, tools, etc.)...More

We were in the area looking for something low cost to do one day. This museum operates on the suggested donation of $5 per adult. You will get you five dollars and then some. It has lots of interactive exhibits including a historical fire engine,...More

I can't believe how many times I passed this by without stopping! What's really awesome is that admission is free - but I think we can all afford to throw in a few bucks to help keep this place going! They have so many things...More

This little museum is a real surprise gem. As you walk in there is a diorama with "live birds" (taxonomy) in their natural setting done by a world famous taxonomist. So many exhibits of old time Sturgeon Bay. Keeps the interest of children and adults.

Nearly passed it by last spring, but saw an add and went. HUGE FUN - great little museum - the building is beautiful - and the diorama is beautiful and educational.

I think it is open May 1 through Oct 31. What I remember is old railroad, fire department, news paper clippings, stuffed wild life, jail. I've been twice and enjoyed it both times. Maybe you could google more info.
