    Gorgeous place and dog friendly
This state park is absolutely gorgeous. I brought my dog with and my friend and her two dogs also came along. There is a specific beach area for the dogs which has a lot of space. There is an easy walk/hike to Cave Point from this state park too. Such a beautiful place with gorgeous views.

    The beach is much smaller
This is one of my favorite state parks - in particular since the cooling breeze off of the Lake Michigan on a hot summer day. The park is not very large, but has several very serene walking trails. It also has a beach - but in the last several years beach has shrunk significantly, since he waters of Lake Michigan have noticeably. The park also has a nature center, where one can explore the natural history of the park and its surroundings.

    Wonderful place....
Yet another wonderful place to enjoy the natural splendor of Door County. Being off-season, mid-week, the traffic flow was minimal; even though it was a cool, yet comfortable day. This made for a very laid-back and relaxing exploration of the area. The beach was almost totally vacant, allowing for a pleasant immersion into the sight and sounds of the waves; as well as an uncrowded meandering along the trails. This is a great place to spend a few hours, or several days.

This Door Co. park offers one of the only sandy beaches in the area. It consists of over 860 acres and has nature as well as hiking trails. In the winter months it also has cross country ski trails. There is an accessible picnic area. The park is open during the day only, there are no campsites.

This had lots of options for trails different lengths. View of bay was great. So trails were in the woods and along the shore.

My husband and I did a lot of hiking on the Door Co. peninsula in July. Whitefish Dunes State Park was one of the best places we visited.

I’m sure its beautiful if there’s not dead fish everywhere. Seems like it would be a health hazard; dead fish in the thousands all along the shore, floating in the water…. Still kids playing and people swimming, but the smell is atrocious. Too bad there’s no warning before you enter the park.

we were able to park here and walk along the beach to arrive back at our condo (Glidden Lodge). It was a very relaxing walk along Lake Michigan in beautiful weather.
