We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Take the Kids! Take the spouse! Take Grandma!!!

This is an AMAZINGLY affordable theater. 2nd generation, family owned. A bushel of popcorn is $6, with $1 refills. A large soda - half gallon - is $4 with .50 refills. (Exaggerating on sizes, but barely). Candy is from $1-3 and these are theater size boxes.

They have REAL butter on their popcorn. And PAPER straws! Huzzah for being eco friendly and keeping fake butter crap off my hotcorn.

There are $2 Thursday summer matinees.

Pricing for tickets and food is great and the theatre is huge. I just wish there were more people attending. I would hate to lose this treasure in Stanley.

My wife and I got into the car and drove about six miles and turned our clock back about 30 years!
A small city with a Main Street movie theater right out of the golden 50's or 60's. Marquee lightening, popcorn machine spinning out golden wonderful smelling popcorn which you can have buttered or plain, or even extra butter. Old fashioned ( and some new fashioned) candy, and flavored "caramel corn" which home made and GREAT!
And, of course, this is even before you sit down in your seat. The theater has. Ben totally upgraded, great speakers, clean floors, comfort and pretty much everything you'd want in a theater that only has 1 ( yes, 1) screen not a multiplex, not a Cineplex, just a one-plex, and that's fine with me. The place was great, the movie was something my wife wanted to see which wasn't written by Nicholas Sparks, so we went and had a great evening. Got the Senior discount, too! Well keep doing it.

Stanley Theater is a small, well priced , local cinema with all the charm of the "shows" we went to during the 60's and 70's. There is a great concessions counter, gourmet popcorn, and the regular box of popcorn is a real bargain.
The theater is a real piece of the economy, has up to date sound and picture technique, so it's just a win-win kind of family fun. (Or great date night for us older folk)

This theater is one of the reason I do not feel the need to travel to a larger city to watch a movie. It is family owned and operated so you know you are getting special attention when you go to the movies. You can take your family to see a movie and not feel like you are spending an arm and a leg on it.

With support of the locals and those passing through, this local, family run theater business has been able to maintain its presence in the community. Upgrades have ensured its long term existence, offering current movies. Usually showing on weekends only.

The Stanley Theater is a great place to watch a movie. The majority of the movies here are family friendly movies. The interior is clean and the decor reminds me of going to the movies when I was young in the 60's. The Theater has many new updates most recent going Digital. The family that runs the Theater is very friendly and they make the best popcorn I have had at any Theater in the area.

I wish I would have visited this place sooner. I took my children here to see Frozen recently and it was very nice. The seats are a bit more comfortable compared to other theaters, the sound was good, and the candy was VERY decently priced. I also like how they sometimes have $1.00 movie specials.
I would recommend seeing a movie here if you have some free time on the weekend and you happen to be in the Stanley area.
