As history buffs, we wanted to check the shot tower out and learn some local history. We were a bit surprised when we saw the $11 fee, but paid it as we wanted to visit. Being from Pa, we don't know if all Wisc parks...More

Bring bug spray, they have some of the biggest horse flies I have ever seen, also most trails are shaded so brings out the bugs. It is a bit of an uphill hike for the shot tower, not suitable for all.

We've both hiked and camped at Tower Hill State Park. We tent camped at a wonderful spot by the Wisconsin river. The camping spot was nice and it was very relaxing, as we sat in our chairs waiting for dinner we could hear the fish...More

This is a small state park with a few camping options. I would think this is a very popular location during the summer months. Several picnicking areas within the park and there were also several bathrooms scatter about. We are from Florida and I have...More

With only 11 campsites, you want to arrive early to get the best pick. You're right on a Wisconsin River backwater slough for fishing & canoe access. Bass, bluegill & walleye are what we catch there. Checking out the shot tower & tunnel is worthwhile,...More

We hiked the trail up to the shot tower and smelting house. It was pretty steep, but doable even for us. The reconstructed shot tower and smelting house were interesting, as were some of the displays. There are nice views from the decks on either...More

Really nice park, mostly designed for picnicing, but some nice campsites. Be warned that the trail up to the tower where lead shot was made seems longer than it is, because it is about a 45 degree climb the entire way over fairly rough terrain...More

I visited this State Park more than 30 years ago and remember it as a small but delightful and interesting place to visit. It still is a nice place for a picnic and there are a few camping spots but oh my, the rest seems...More
