- BobgilbertctcDoor County, Wisconsin71 contributionsMilwaukee Public Market - An Experience for FoodiesThis was a wonderful unexpected experience with some great finds. I like indistrial chic and this fitted right in to this descriptor. There is something for everyone. And it's all artisnal. Amazing vednors for meats, sausages, fish, cheese, breads, cookies, olive oils, tacos, wine, BBQ, sushi, the list goes on. I love the hustle and bustle and the design of the Market Place. Plus easy parking. Hope you enjoy my photo tour.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 6 October 2023
- AdventureMN95Minneapolis, Minnesota339 contributionsCrowed and tightReminds me of pike place market in Seattle but much smaller. Lots of variety of vendors they’ll be worn. If you go on a Saturday it’s extremely crowded. If you like seafood they have a whole seafood corner with an oyster bar and a sit down restaurant. They also have a vendor that sells massive bloody Mary’s in different varieties! This place has a bit of everything for everyoneVisited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 16 December 2023
- Big MikeManlius, New York420 contributionsA must doA vibrant market in a historic part of the city. Full of life with something for everyone a good variety of meats, cheeses and seafood. All of which can be prepared in front of your eyes. Also, don't forget the wood-fired pizza.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 December 2023

However, I do not hate Milwaukee's Public Market! Compared to other major cities, the eateries all seemed to be fairly priced for the food quality and portion sizes. I had nice juice smoothie for $8, cup of coffee for $3, a humongous slice of carrot cake for $5.25, a 1lb cheddar cheese wax wheel for $13, and a nice chicken middle eastern meal for $10. Lots of seating upstairs, go check this place out!Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 12 March 2024
- K_WislanderMonticello, Illinois66 contributionsFeels like an open air downtown market inside a nice and airy buldingThe Milwaukee Public Market is kind of a cornerstone of downtown Milwaukee. Inside you can grab a bite to eat, grab food to go, grab a quick drink, and even pick up some fresh delivered seafood. It is a hub of small businesses from many different walks of life, and because it is indoors, can be enjoyed all year long. There is a large parking lot, and it is right on the HOP Streetcar service route. It is usually very busy on the weekends especially near the holidays. And it is almost impossible to go in side and leave without buying something.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 June 2024
- Maps222632700154 contributionsMilwaukee Public Market - enjoyed it.It was a busy place but there was close parking. There were lots of food choices and specialty places like wine, cheese, spices, and meats to purchase and take home. You had to follow the traffic and wiggle out if you saw a pace you wanted to stop. The lines were long but over all things went quickly. The kids loved it. We went twice in one day. For lunch, and around 6 to shop the specialty places. It was still busy, but much easier to navigate at 6. Highly recommend.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 30 July 2024

So we have been here before pre Covid times. Most everything is the same. Expect to wear masks and see staff at each market station wearing masks. Most everything is the same except for the cake place. Only serving cookies and bars. None of their delicious cakes were available. You can find most types of cuisines here: deli, seafood, salads, italian, tacos, cheese/wine, coffee, desserts, soups and burger fries. You will have to pay if you park on the street using the meter. If you use the lot and buy food your parking is validated by the vendors, but usually that lot is full. Recommend street parking for 4 quarters it gets you almost an hour.

Went to the Milwaukee Public Market this week and it was such a vibrant experience; lots of locally owned small businesses to support. You can find almost anything that you feel like eating or drinking. It is a little pricey, though. The Soup Market had some delicious choices.

Visited this place when I was in Milwaukee for a wedding. I always love public markets. They are full of life and are not " sterile " like giant malls.
Here there are lots and lots of food option. And cheese!
Just very nice to people watch here. Which I love doing.
There is a few outdoor seating available.
Parking right next to the market is available. It is underneath the freeway. Problem is that it is always full. I managed to park in an outdoor lot a block away. Was told by the market parking attendant that there are two more parking lots nearby.
You can climb up to the second floor where there are a lot more sitting options for you to take your meals. Restrooms are also here.
Take time to visit the Market and time it with a lunch or dinner. You will enjoy the hustle and bustle!

We came here for lunch and found parking right away after entering the lot. First half an hour was free.
Inside was two level with restaurants and food shops on the main floor and a dining area plus demonstration kitchen on the second. There also was outside dining tables as well including a bar.
Some of the different food options inside were pizza, Mediterranean, seafood, bakeries, wine tasting, or spice shop. The Mediterranean, salad and seafood restaurants were the busiest.
Overall the dining area was cleaned regularly but not very crowded. A lot of people were taking their orders to go or eating outside.
We enjoyed the vibe, setting and our lunch.

The place is great! We had a 6 hour layover and took an Uber into Milwaukee. We were starving and ordered a little bit of everything at Public Market. The space is awesome. Funky and decorated really cool. My kids loved looking at everything inside, we tried a little bit of everything, pizza, a wrap, smoothies and desserts. The service was a little slow, but everything was made to order so worth it in my opinion. Lots of tables to eat at a huge window to people watch. Such a nice town and so clean, good people.

Milwaukee Public Market is a super cool place to meet people and hang out. They have many epicurean little shops inside from fresh fish, prime meats, gourmet coffee and barista bar, chocolates, wines, baked goods, mini eateries like sushi, Mediterranean, pizza, sandwiches, ribs and a beautiful fresh fish and oyster bar (St Paul’s) in the very back with bar and table seating, Of course…various cheese and curds are here too! It’s fun walking through and seeing all the interesting items. Everything in this market is delicious! There’s something for everyone at decent prices as well. We stop here every time we come to Milwaukee.

It is actually quite small. There was 1 stall selling T-shirt’s that was cool. We were staying at Drury inn ~5 min walk away & were looking for dinner options in advance since not much is open in DT at night. We ended up with a Stromboli $10 & a piece of spinach pie$5 & the cheese shop had “cheese orphans”, small pieces to sample diff types.

Where is the best place to park, we will have about 4 cars and be going at about 1 pm on a Sunday.
Written 31 August 2018
There is a parking lot attached to the public market area. It will probably be very busy on Saturday. It is a pay lot through, but they will validate your ticket for an hour I believe if you purchase something with-in the market. Otherwise you might be able to find some street parking. We were able to park at the Harley museum and walk to the market. It was free and easy parking. We killed two birds with one stone. It is about a mile walk.

How much time should we allow out of our visit to spend here. we probably will he grabbing a snack and beer.
Written 4 September 2017
One hour is fine if you are on a time budget and just want a drink and some food. The food is generally ready pretty quickly and there is plenty of seating outside and upstairs too.
However you could also spend a day wandering the market, riverwalk its next to and 3rd ward shops it sits amongst if you wanted to and had time.
Written 5 September 2017
is the market just food or other items too??
Written 11 May 2017
All kinds of stuff. Not just food, though that did predominate.
