Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I went downtown for my afternoon walk and found a lot of neat and interesting things to do in at Old World 3rd Street.I have not been in our downtown area in many of years. Here is what I found, There were many restaurant types, from German,Polish, American and Italian. Oh there also is a fresh seafood restaurant. There are all kinds of shops and a cheese market. Enjoy your visit.

My wife and I manage to make a trip to Old World Third Street whenever we are in Milwaukee as there are three standout places to visit that enhance the experience. First is Maders, a traditional German restaurant dating back to 1902. Though we did not dine here this trip, I enjoyed a few brandy old fashioned cocktails at the Knights Bar and enjoyed talking with the bartender while my wife shopped along the street. This is a beautiful restaurant with very good food and highly recommended. Second is the The Spice House just to the left of Maders. This is a fantastic store with just about any spice that is offered anywhere for sale. We always find some interesting things to take home with us. Third is Usingers, the famous sausage maker. I love their products. They are the best made. There are other restaurants and bars there, but I stick to the tried and true classics.

If this is your first time visiting the historic third ward in Milwaukee then I would recommend starting with the wonderful river walk. The river walk follows a pathway right along the Milwaukee River. Visitors can either purchase tickets from one of the private group tours or simply just stroll the river walk yourself. Either way it’s a great way to get your bearings together as you walk at your leisure.
Another activity that my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed was the beer'n'brats river cruise which covers the Milwaukee river to the lake Michigan shore line all the while providing us with delicious micro beer and Usinger's bratwurst.
There are many excellent places to dine right on 3rd street. For a good beer simply stop in at the Old German beer hall. The atmosphere there is terrific. If you are in the mood for some authentic Wisconsin cheese then I would recommend a visit at the Wisconsin cheese bar either way any activity that you decide on during your visit there you will not be disappointed!

Went at night, probably should have gone during the day. Unfortunately, I was with people who have difficulty walking plus it was rather cold so ate and then left. But looked interesting.
we went to the Old German Beer Hall--the sausage and beers were good but not the side dishes. I lived in Germany for a year and the red cabbage and the German potato salad were poor examples of the cuisine. Fries were cold. Would pick a different place or just have the wursts and beer

We looked around and couldn't find anything much of value to see in this neighborhood...few restaurants, loud bars and a sausage place. What was I supposed to see?

You will have a tour of old German heritage with the various buildings. Whether it is a top rated German meal, top notch sausage store, or neat little eating and bars you will enjoy the visit. It will soon because even more instrumental next year when the new stadium and large shopping complex will open which is only within a few blocks from this on the river walk area.

Great street through the center of Milwaukee which includes a downtown mall on the south end; several must shop foodies stores (Usingers Sausage, The Spice House - the place for every spice, walk in just for the smell, and the Wisconsin Cheese Mart... All on the same block); and ethnic food including a great German restaurant - Mader's and a German Bar with beer garden. Irish corner is just across the river along Juneau and a hip hotel in the chain Aloft. Parking with meters and several pay lots.

I grew up in the Milwaukee area, and when my wife and I visit from Atlanta now we always go to Old World Third. We stock up on spices at The Spice House (which is the company that Alton Brown of Food Network fame gets *his* spices from), then we get our sausage fix from Usinger's, and finally we top it off with artisanal cheeses from the Wisconsin Cheese Shop. We even told a contact from one of the major cooking magazines about Old World Third. Perhaps they'll write it up.

I recently was out on Old World 3rd St. for a bachelorette party and it was tons of fun! We started the night at Cafe Vecchio Mondo. The Italian food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Everyone, including 3 vegetarians, was able to find something tasty. We also ordered martinis by the carafes (small carafes) so we could taste a number of the different flavors offered - yummy! Next, we went on to Lucille's Piano Bar (dueling pianos, crowd age ranges from 21 to 50+). If you make reservations and get there before too late, you get great seating, but it gets packed by 10 on Saturdays. It's a $5 cover, but worth it if you're in the mood for dancing and singing along. The piano players are fun and take tips for requests. They often dedicate embarrassing songs to guests of honor, which can be very entertaining. The jello shots in syringes were a big hit! The staff also puts on a fun song and dance show. We then moved onto Buckhead's (higher energy, younger crowd), where we entered without cover because I called early announcing our party - otherwise I believe it's $5 on weekends. The bachelorette drank free, the live music was great, and we danced for a couple hours. Overall, fantastic night, and I would definitely go back to all three places again.

Walking down Old World 3rd Street is a must, when in Milwaukee! The restaurants and bars are extremely inviting! You have a variety to choose from. Don't forget to check out Usingers or the Cheese Mart. Great places to sample and purchase some traditions of Milwaukee!

I'm sorry - I don't know the answer to your question. I'm sure the Milwaukee Chamber of Commerce could help you.
