I've been to several festivals here! One of my favorite parks in the city. I try to visit whenever I'm in town visiting family.

The full grounds are open for Summerfest in the middle of summer (late June into early July) and it truly is the world's largest outdoor music festival. The grounds are right on Lake Michigan and it has multiple stages for music. Over the years it has gotten better and better about sound isolation between the stages, which is not easy when outdoors. There are numerous food vendors representing some of the most-loved restaurants in Milwaukee, numerous beer vendors (this is Milwaukee, after all) a wine bar, a cocktail bar, and a children's area with a great playground and many activities for kids. Before and after Summerfest, the grounds host numerous ethnic festivals, such as Germanfest, Fiesta Italiana, and Irish Fest (which claims to be the largest outdoor Irish festival in the world). Some of those smaller fests only rent out part of the grounds, so to get the whole-park experience, you need to go to Summerfest. Did I mention it has a sky-glider to get you from one side of the park to the other? That is a great way to listen to bands as you progress from one stage to another, and to check out where restaurants are located. Highly recommended!

I was born and raised in Milwaukee, and until I moved to the south several years ago, I made almost every Summerfest there was since I was a kid. The park hosts countless ethnic festivals during the year, but the real gem is Summerfest. And I'm sorry but no one in this country puts on a better music festival than this. If you're ever in Milwaukee in July, make it a point to get a multi-day pass and take it in. If you like good music, great beer, and like minded individuals you'll have an absolute blast. And with the amount of public transportation methods there, it's a breeze to get around the downtown area. Sometimes for free!

Wisconsin is well known for their festivals and a ton of them are held right in downtown Milwaukee at Henry Maier. There’s obviously Summerfest but there’s a lot of ethnic festivals held almost every weekend in summer there. Some of them include Polish Fest, Festa Italiana, and Irish Fest. There are also lots of walks and runs for organisations there. Nice, big festival ground with views of the lake.
