This museum is a most impressive structure inside and out. One can easily spend the better part of a day taking in the collection of art inside. There is a most interesting range of art. Part of the day of enjoying the art should be...More
I waited a while to actually visit the art collection of this incredible museum. You can always step in and enjoy the architecture which I did already several times. I can’t get enough. I read somewhere that every 1st Thursday of the month there would...More
This interesting Art Museum can be seen from many angles and is worth a visit up close. Our guide on our tour bus told us the building was designed after a Nordic boat and when you view it from the lake side of the building...More
We visit a lot of art museums and found this one daunting, it is so large and there is so much to see. The Calatrava addition is an amazing piece of architecture. We did not arrive in time to see the "wings" flap at noon...More

it is significantly smaller than art museums in large cities like the Met in NYC, the Chicago Art Institute and the National Gallery in DC and also smaller than those in comparably-sized cities like Cleveland and Kansas City. Also, the collection is not comprehensive (no classical, Renaissance or art from outside Europe/America) and is heavily concentrated in modern and contemporary art. If you like that kind of art, you may spend longer, but if not, you won’t spend as long as you otherwise would at an art museum. You’ll be able to see a lot of it in under 3 hours.
