Solid museum with many good pieces of art but not of the level of Boston or Detroit (much smaller than those two). Didn't have any Native American art or much outside of America and Europe (but they did have the prerequisite mummy). Went on the...More

Do not miss visiting the Milwaukee Art Museum. The building itself is worth the visit alone. They have great shows and the Peg Bradley collection is very in depth. It's a must see!

More than I expected, amazing and you need to be on your feet for several hours. I have to say I was sceptical before I went in, but I am glad i did go inside and loved it.

We catch nearly all traveling exhibits at the MAM, almost always coupling our visit with a tour of some part of the permanent collection. I especially like the Haitian art collection. I highly recommend this MKE treasure.

Definitely outside. Try to find a position on the bridge that's back far enough to see the full spectacle.

I suggest outside. There are many vantage points. Across the street in the parking garage. At the restaurant nearby (Harbor House).

If you don't mind a very pleasant Milwaukee walk, you wouldn't have to. However, it is an option. Sorry for the delay in responding. I just saw your question now.
