It is worth it to stop by this museum to see the "wings" open (or close) and go inside to look at the atrium area. I also went through the Degas exhibit which was quite well done and had a terrific audio tour.

Not worth the visit while renovations are underway. All permanent exhibitions are closed until summer 2015. There is 1 visiting exhibition and a bunch of amateur art without a unifying theme. Unbelievably they still charge full price.

The modern art is beautiful of course but the standout is the building and the movable sculpture which closes up at night or under Highwinds and opens up in the morning. Note it also opens up at noon for visitors in the middle of the...More

My husband and I just visited and spent 2.5 hours here which was not enough to get through everything! There were a lot of great exhibits and variety of artwork. It was $38 for 2 adults and about $7 for parking. You could easily spend...More

The building is outstanding. I thought it would be cheesy, but it was not. We walked all the way around the museum and were impressed. The inside is great too. They have a wonderful collection. My favorite was the folk art. They had some incredible,...More

Excellent and varied art collections, and free of charge! Be sure to time your visit to see the "wings" fold and unfold at noon.

Definitely outside. Try to find a position on the bridge that's back far enough to see the full spectacle.

I suggest outside. There are many vantage points. Across the street in the parking garage. At the restaurant nearby (Harbor House).

If you don't mind a very pleasant Milwaukee walk, you wouldn't have to. However, it is an option. Sorry for the delay in responding. I just saw your question now.
