If you have been to public museums in larger cities, this museum can't compare. However, it does have some nice displays and a good street scene of old Milwaukee. And a state-of-the-art Imax. Kids will like it.

What a charming museum with so much to do and see! Such cool exhibits for kids to see and interact with. The museum has 3 floors and the candy shoppe in Old World Milwaukee was a hit with our family! Wonderful place!

This is a place we go with our kids a few times per year. So many good exhibits like rain forrest, dinosaurs, butterfly that land on you. I went there as a kid 30 years ago.

The museum has updated two of its permanent exhibits in recent years - Streets of Old Milwaukee and Ancient Civilizations - and done an excellent job of bringing in traveling exhibits as well. We recently took our parents to see the Maya traveling exhibit and...More

The butterfly exhibit was by far my favorite. I actually held one in my hands while one landed on my shirt. So beautiful. I want to go back again. The parking was easy too.

All the answers make sense to me, really. I could spend a couple hours, or a whole day, depending on other commitments. Plus, because I live in the area I can always go back!

Yes! The museum has an old-school cafeteria and people bring food in. There are also tables by the window and outside in the lobby to eat.
