My wife came up last weekend (we live in Marshall, WI and I am a traveling sonographer). Came upon the Museum and, on a whim, stopped in. Entry is free, but " $5 donation is suggested." Fair enough, but I hardly ever carry cash. Would...More

This isn't a big place, but is nice to walk through. We especially enjoyed seeing the mansion part of this. It's a beautiful place. We enjoyed the art displays as we walked through.

Our cruise stopped for the day in Manitowoc, and so we walked up 8th Street to the art museum. The air conditioning inside felt nice as soon as we entered. The main exhibit we wanted to see was their display of Marc Chagall's 1967 38-plate...More

We love the revolving art displays. During Christmas the house is fully trimmed and so beautiful. We visit nearly every time we go to Manitowoc.

We came for the transient exhibit of submarine paintings, but really enjoyed the Chagall prints the best! Informative and historical banners add rich detail to the individual prints. Also worth venturing upstairs into the house - Samurai doll extreme!

Ran across an ad today and we got on the motorcycle and visited. Glad we did. Not large but very unique and interesting. We came while a famous Navel artist's work was on display. Have most of the summer to still see it. Beautiful work...More

Beautiful Victorian architecture, and a mixture of art styles exhibited in various pieces by Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali, Georgia O'Keeffe, and others. If you're in Manitowoc for any reason, and you have a little extra time, you might as well check it out....More

The information above is correct. A rather steep staircase with one landing leads to the exhibit rooms upstairs in the mansion. They're optional, however - quite a few interesting things to see on the ground floor, too!
