This museums is small but packed with educational opportunities for any age. But I would think the younger grade school age would be fascinated the best. The TV video clips inside to the right should be watched first. These impressive dinosaur fossilized skeletons are expertly...More

This museum is a gem for a dino trip with young children. It has many types of dinosaur fossils displayed in a large upstairs room. You don't have to walk many floors and rooms to see what is fascinating to young and old alike. Bathrooms...More

Wow, what a wonderful review! It sounds like you really took your time and soaked up all our Museum has to offer. It's great to hear that you got as much enjoyment out of the exhibits as your little one. Visit us again soon!

Doesn't take long to see. The downstairs is very cool though. Real paleontologists were working on extracting a triceratops fossil from it's casting they retrieved from Montana. There is a short film upstairs that shows the whole process and was quite informative. And it's free!...More

Thanks for your review! The great thing about our Museum is you can take as little or as long as you want to go through it. With 22 specimens on display, there's plenty to see if you want to stop and read each panel. Or...More

Thanks for the review! In addition to the kids area in the Lower Level, you can also catch Paleontologists cleaning real dinosaur bones collected by Carthage College. We're open every day but Monday, 12pm-5pm. Visit us again soon!

Dinosaur Discovery Museum is a very small museum, but the admission is free with a small suggested donation. It's just the right size for smaller kids who are still learning how to behave in a museum. My sons are 5 and 7, and they loved...More

What a great observation! We have 22 different dinosaur fossils on display at the Museum, and you can see them all without ever letting your little one wander out of sight. The Carthage Paleontology Lab is also in the basement of the Lower Level, and...More

Small but lots of good specimens and many informative displays. Can you beat 3 dollar suggested donation? Obviously tiny compared to Chicago's Field Museum, but I think this has just as many actual dinosaurs. If you are into Dinosaurs, worth a visit.

Thanks for the great review! You're absolutely right - we have the largest collection of theropods in the country, with 22 specimens, 9 of which can only be seen at our Museum! How cool is that? Come visit us again soon!

The museum is small but was lots of fun for our 5 and 6 year olds. They had a small cart with lots of just different fossils, models and casts that the kids could touch. There was a very helpful young man who was teaching...More

What a very, very pleasant surprise. Spend 15 minutes or an hour to see a very well planned exhibit. It is free, but the suggested $3 donation is a bargain. The kids will love it!

I believe so. As long as you have explained that dinosaurs can be big and intimidating (they have a T-Rex and Allosaurus on display).

There is no admission price, as it is a free museum. They do have donation boxes though if you want to make a donation.
