Ten Chimneys is the estate lovingly created by Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne. With no ropes and nothing under glass, guests are treated to a VIP guided tour of a National Historic Landmark replete with original furnishings and overflowing with the romance of the 1930s and ’40s. “Every time I was visiting with the Lunts in Genesee Depot, I was in a sort of daze of wonder; the dining room, the table, the china, the silver, the food, the extraordinary care and beauty and taste…a sort of dream, a vision.”-Katharine Hepburn

I'm so glad I had the opportunity to learn more about Ten Chimneys. It is rich in history of the theater world. It would be nice if they aired out the buildings a little bit more. I would definitely recommend a visit to Ten Chimneys!

The Lunt's Home is very creative and sort of reminds me of a children's fantasy tour. They were eccentric as well as surprisingly down in earth. Kind of reminds me of the Hearst Castle in Calif where the Hearst Family hosted notables on their estate...More

The two hour docent-guided tour was so interesting! We were able to get a peek at a bygone era of theater history. The structures and grounds are lovely. The main house is beautiful and is an excellent example of attention to detail. It is stunning.

I loved my tour through Ten Chimneys, though I will admit it's not for everyone. I had no idea who Lynn Fontanne and Alfred Lunt were, but their story and the story of the home they built together was romantic and interesting. There is a...More

When you visit the main house it is just like the Lunt's went out for dinner and never returned. Everything is just like they left it with all the original furniture, pictures, china and decorations. The detailing of the wall art is just beautiful. I...More
