Well marked trails - varied lengths and difficulties. No bikes sharing the trails. Spring flowers were beautiful and there was a different variety as you walked along. You could hear the city noises, but it was quiet enough to hear the birds. Not overly crowded.

I love to walk through nature, and the Wehr Nature Center is the perfect place to do that. With several different marked trails and true nature surrounding, it always helps me to come to a peaceful state away from the crazy noise of the outside world. Beautiful for solo hikers, yet good too for families, or couples. Occasionally, take your... More

We have been there many times to walk the trails around the pond. They are beautiful any time of year. Very peaceful. The waterfall is fun for kids to see. It's located on the north side of the pond just south of college & 92nd. . Many different trail options depending on how long you want to walk. Can veer... More

The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. During this field trip for third graders, there was a nature walk and a lesson with hands-on activities.

Since I live very close to Wehr Nature Center, and since I'm a Friend, I have made it a point to drive over and go for little hikes of about a mile. I thoroughly enjoyed the yellow route which took me partially around the lake; keep in mind, though, that the bridge is under construction. I chose to retrace my... More

After a big indian afternoon buffet, we needed a quiet walk outdoors. Wehr nature center's trail around Mallard Lake was our choice. The trail was level and easy. Parking lot was 2/3 full at 3:15pm, so we were not too surprised to encounter numerous families and couples. Best nature sighting was families of wood ducks -- beautiful!

We used to live adjacent to the property and spent many hours hiking the trails. Recently stopped back for a visit. Varied area with a pond, wetlands, forest and prairie and is part of Whitnall Park. Enjoyable any time of year. Check the website for organized events and programs at the visitor center. Great nature getaway in Milwaukee County.

Wehr Nature Center is part of the larger Whitnall Park. Great place to take a walk in nature. Lots of birds singing during our recent visit. Many native wildflowers. A wonderful afternoon. Look for educational programs that are offered at times through out the year.

Wehr is a great place to take a walk or small hike through the nature trails. A great piece to get outside and enjoy nature just outside Milwaukee.
