We planned a long weekend trip to ride the entire length of this historic trail. Unfortunately, the weather hampered most of our plans, but we were able to sneak in a few sections between rain storms. We rode from Norwalk west so we could experience...More

What an enjoyable bike ride on this well maintained rail trail. We started out at the Kendall Depot (nice items to buy like lights to get through the tunnels if you forgot yours!), in the rain, which only meant very few on the trail with...More

We did the trail round trip from Sparta to Elroy and back. That was 68 miles. Next time I'll do it one way. Elroy to Sparta is net-downhill and that is the way to go.

Starting in Sparta, I got an early start on the Elroy-Sparta trail. About 9 miles down the trail, I encountered tunnel 3 which is approximately 3/4 miles in length. Signage at the tunnel entrance recommends/suggests that bikes must be walked in the tunnel. Unless your...More

I've come back to bike here several times over about thirty years. Besides things growing not much has changed with the trail. The towns have been good at offering great places to eat or rest etc too. I visited in early July during the week....More

I don’t know, in terms of general services. The B and B where we stayed offered a drop off service for $30.
