I visited the island over Labor Day weekend using the ferry. It was a great day trip while just walking on and off the ferry. Lots of people there but enjoyed ourselves in the little shops (loved the candle place) and the burned out bar...More

The island is worth a day trip. The town is cute and the town beach and state park are beautiful. However, most of the island's shoreline is private. The only public access to the Lake is at the town beach or state park (which has...More

Camped up here for a getaway weekend. Cute little island, though you need a ferry to get over here from Bayfield. We left our car and took our bikes so it would be easier to get around. Fun trip.

Beautiful! The ferry is ridiculously expensive but this review is for the island. Don't miss town park, we almost did because of the name. It was the highlight. All of N Shore Drive is gravel and pitted. We made it through unscathed but wouldn't pursue...More

We visited this on Labor day weekend, and while you would think that would be busy, it wasn't. It had a quiet peacefulness that is hard to find on most islands. The beach was uncrowded, and the trails are well built. We decided to drive...More

We took the ferry with our car over to Madeline Island. A car isn't needed if you can walk distances. This was on my bucket list of things to do.

Our family took the ferry over in our car. It was $97, but worth it. We ate uptown, drove around the whole island, stayed at Big Bay State Park, and walked and kayaked the beach. Wonderful, unique, family vacation. Would recommend to all.

Its a nice small island. Gandpa Tony's is a good place to eat. There are few other option. Most of the things are reasonable in island. I stayed in Big Arns in island and it was awesome. I will visit again.

The ferry from Bayfield is not cheap, especially if you take a car. Just a person is $14 round trip and you pay this plus a car fee if you take your car. There is little to see, do or shop or eat here. Save...More
