Wonderful a piece of History.

I love walking across the old Suspension Bridge and looking down through the grates into the water. It's a truly unique experience.

Read the history of it on the sign on the main street side of the bridge. Travel over it everyday and the Casino is on the other side of the bridge.

The Roebling Suspension Bridge in Cincinnati has this one beat in my opinion, but this is a close second. I walk across the Roebling regularly but couldn't muster up the courage to take more than a couple steps out onto this one. It was very pretty to look at, day and night.

One of a kind door way to Wheeling! It's right next to Wheeling capitol theater, and its unique design and its history are just so incredible! Best for a walk tour on a warm sunny day.

If you are in Wheeling walk over the bridge. Historical markers tell about it. Nice view. Not much else to say.

This is a very old bridge. I love driving over it both day and at night when it is lighted by a string of light chains across the spans. Gives you a very nostalgic feeling to over the Ohio River on this thing.

The steel-grate suspension bridge provided a different experience than a normal bridge to drive over. In addition to the steel grate, you could feel the bridge swaying slightly as you were driving over it. If you are interested in various architectural designs, you should check this bridge out by driving over it and checking it out from below. The bridge... More

If you stay at the McLure Hotel in downtown Wheeling this bridge is a neat short-cut and timesaver back to the hotel...... trip is a short mile.....and the history is fascinating, Glad to see that the bridge was saved from destruction!
