Went here expecting just paved easy walking trails & was pleasantly surprised. There were several trails that all intertwined. A few even had a pretty decent incline. Pretty views with lots of trees and wildflowers. Would recommend this spot!

This was not a arboretum. It's a walk in the woods with hiking trails. They had very little "trees" with little signs on them to tell you what trees they were. Would not consider this an arboretum at all.

I love the Arboretum. It was a stable for our family growing up. It's beautiful for hiking, nature and finding stillness and peace amidst this busy world. I have the fondest of memories going there throughout my life and look forward to sharing this special place with our daughter as the spring emerges.

A peaceful walk through nature. I stopped by on my way to visit my son at WVU. It was just off the main highway, but offered a relaxing retreat. Most trails are very steep. I only walked along the top of the trail , I did not walk downhill to the river. The sun was out and leaves were falling... More

The Arboretum piggy backs part of the Caperton Trail. The Core Arboretum has several small natural waterfalls along the trail and peek -a -boo's of the Monongahela River.

You don't have to be a tree hugger to love this area. If you're looking for a quiet spot to take a walk or just sit and think, this place provides you with that opportunity. It's right along the river in downtown Morgantown. When you are there, it's difficult to remember you are in an urban area. Access to this... More

This is the best quiet part of WVU. This very hilly natural area near the river is a great place to walk alone with your dog or with friends. It is a peaceful haven in a busy university town. Enjoy so the university will not be able to build on it and develop it into new buildings!

I had a wonderful time walking the quiet pathway with my young son. We had to wait for my daughter to finish her music lesson. Just a hop away from the WVU art center and good crosswalk. I was impressed by how good the forest was taken care of and the trail blazers were fresh and easily visible. Also there... More

Please get here and soak in this tranquil place before they take paradise and put up a parking lot. Lots of things to see here, trees, plant, birds all while breathing the fresh air of WV.

The cicada are on the perimeter of the arboretum until late June 2016. As a science teacher they are very interesting little creatures. The arboretum offers those that enjoy nature trees, plants, flowers, cliffs in a peaceful setting in the heart of Morgantown. It is accessible by bus and it offers some quiet time away from the noise of the... More
