This is a wonderful museum for a great overview history of the Yakima Valley. The museum includes some fun general things like antique buggies but also history specific to Yakima. The William O Douglas exhibit is interesting, as is the WWII history.

We stopped here to take a break from a long drive home. What an interesting and well curated museum. Being of Japanese descent, I found the section on the Internment very interesting. The same occurred up and down the Pacific Northwest so I was well informed, but it always interests me to learn about what it was like in other... More

I didn't expect much from this museum but was pleasantly surprised. Absolutely great for kids! From the museum cat near the front door, it took us 1/2 an hour to walk past with a 2 year old, to the lights and interactive rooms for the kids. Adults and children will be charmed!

Raised in Yakima and find the Museum a lovely tribute to the Arts in Yakima. Administration available to answer questions about the history of Yakima, its people and the museum itself.

Actually it's not little at all there are many displays and if you take the time you can find out about apples, bees, transportation of the region, a supreme court judge and people of the valley. I loved... More

Kids room is awesome. 4YO and 2YO played happily for hours. Soda fountain is a blast. Really nice people. Some great exhibits. Entrance fee is so inexpensive. All around a very positive experience.

Wonderful museum, and be sure to check out the opalized petrified wood display. Whole trees turned into opal. and be sure to leave room for a chocolate soda at the 50s style soda fountain!

In all the years we've visited Yakima we have never visited this museum and were delighted to discover that it is a real gem. It is much larger than it appears and is full of fascinating displays. A room is dedicated to Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas, a Yakima native. The Native American artifacts are gorgeous. The neon garden... More

We really enjoyed the historical significance of the Yakima Valley's early days and its transition to current times.
