This area is huge. There have been fires in the past due to the fact that most of the areas annual precipitation falls as snow, but that leaves approx. 300 days of sun a year. When you combine this area with the Okanogan, you get 4 million acres that is full of pretty much any type of recreation you can... More

Tumwater Canyon IS my most favorite place. I drive through it numerous times every year and have been doing so since I was too young to remember. It is gorgeous in all seasons of the year, with its raging water in the spring, its exposed rocks in the summer, its colorful leaves in the autumn, and especially the white wintery... More

great hike into the mountains. can be tiring with the steep uphill climb and can be slick going down. the weather is nice in Wenatchee sunny skies and warmer temps as compared to the Seattle area.

We have been to the Wenatchee National Forest a number of times. Its very pretty forest area with lakes, etc. There are hiking, picnics, and camping possibilities. This time we just drove through a section of it on our way from Leavenworth to Kent.

We went to the Wenatchee National Forest, Naches section, which is next to the eastern side of Mount Rainier. There are so many campgrounds, trails day use areas accessible off the highway. The beautiful river runs fast, and the views are breathtaking.

We stayed at the Wenatchee National Forest south campground. Overall the camping was great and the site was clean and spacious. Lake Wenatchee itself is amazing and worth hiking around it. It seems like it's common for that area to get a lot of wind however, and in our case it was so windy we couldn't go in the lake... More
