Started out as an after thought but I intend on going back tomorrow and packing a picnic. Great scenery, great walking/hiking trails...a family could very easily spend the day here

We visited at dusk and the dense moss covered trees were a gorgeous canopy. The beach is a peaceful area and it looks like the zoo is being expanded. Worth a stop.

This is a gorgeous park & drive. There are lots of places to stop for views & picnicing. You need to keep dogs on leashes & be aware that the wildlife - especially the raccoons - are a little too nosy and can become aggressive....More

The trails are only for foot traffic. Bicycles are not allowed on the trails themselves, but can be ridden on the road without problem. For more information go to the Metro Parks Tacoma website.
