Beautiful river that has easy access from many areas near the road. We were there the end of September & there were many bright red Kokanee fish spawning. They are a land locked sockeye salmon. There are several campsite near by.
Mostly level with a few short climbs. A bit hard to find the trailhead ( find the airstrip, turn left to parallel it and go to the end). Variety of topograghy. Saw deer and LOTS of kokanee in the river.
If you like the outdoors & want to seriously get unplugged, this should be at the top of your list. It truly is a place where rivers, creeks & a crystal clear lake flows though tall old evergreens. Truly worth the effort getting here.

A truly wild and scenic river, almost entirely untouched. Cold water, so not great for swimming, but there's fishing, rafting through the Stehekin Valley Ranch, or just wandering along and enjoying the views. It gets pretty buggy in August and September, though.
