Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good for beginners where you can go with kids. One side of trail there is river where you can spend some time to relax. At end you will reach to waterfall which is true gem. Parking is bit challenging due to crowded.

Soooo glad I went to see Franklin Falls. I love hiking, nature & waterfalls. Not too bad of a hike, in my opinion. I would not recommend taking children though. There is some parking on site. A little tricky to find the actual trail though, so keep that in mind beforehand. I'm not sure if phone service was available at all once we got there. There were bathrooms on site but they are not the best. Shaded trail, so do not worry about getting burnt or getting too hot. The falls were absolutely amazing though - must visit.

The falls are partially frozen, In winter, the forest service closes the access road to the trail. This means an easy to do hike in summer, two mile round trip, becomes a seven mile round trip, That is sort of the bad. Many, many, people do this anyways because franklin falls in winter is, well, pretty special.

The falls are partially frozen, which makes for a stunning vista at the end of the trail. This is "the good". In winter, the forest service closes the access road to the trail. This means an easy to do hike in summer, two mile round trip, becomes a seven mile round trip, five mile, round trip, are on frozen access road with quite a bit of highway traffic noise. That is sort of the bad. Many, many, people do this anyways because franklin falls in winter is, well, pretty special. Today, a weekend day with excellent weather, there were literally hundreds of hikers. Today at least, you did not need snowshoes, traction devices, or trekking poles, but be aware conditions change throughout the winter, and you must pay attention. During the winter when the access road is closed, you do not need any passes. The best tips I can give to enjoy your outing are, one, know trail conditions!!!! And, two, park your car facing towards your exit. This is a narrow road often choked with traffic on compact snow and ice. Do yourself a favor and park facing your getaway. You are welcome.

If you're using google maps to get to the trail, make sure you use "Franklin Falls Trailhead" as the destination. Without the word "trailhead" you will end up at the wrong exit on I90 (like we did). This was a short, manageable hike next to a beautiful stream that ends at the gorgeous falls. Bring water and plan to spend at least a couple of hours. We planned to be there for only an hour or so but stayed for 5!

My family visited the Falls early Sunday morning in July. We arrived around 8:30 am and the main parking lot was only half full. Two bathrooms are located on the trail just past the parking lot. Arriving so early, we noticed that very few people were walking on the trail. The main trail is very well maintained with a canopy of trees providing shade as you hike up to the falls along Denny Creek. When you get to the falls, you can walk down directly by the base of the falls and feel the water spraying in the air. The short rock path can be wet and slippery, so be careful if you have small kids. Since we arrive so early, there was only one family at the falls. In all, it was a very pleasant hike for my family and dog. Highly recommended for those who want a beautiful but mild hike.

Took a hike with family in July 2019. Weather was great (70F). Trails are well maintained and are somewhat spongy from layers of pine needles. The trail to the falls has more ups than downs, but it really isn’t that long (maybe 45min or so). There is a small falls about halfway in that is pretty nice, but you don’t get that close. The bigger falls at the end of trail is impressive, and you can get right up next to it. It was a great experience. Not too easy, and not too tough. Prefect for my wife and I since the Seattle hills had already worn us out a bit.

My 11 year old son and friends did this hike and it was spectacular! Not sure if it is always the case every winter, but the road was closed so it added 2 miles (each way) to the hike - making the total hike approximately 8 miles. The road and the hike itself is relatively flat though so it didn't really take a toll on us. The snow was packed down enough that snow shoes were not needed and the views at the end were well worth it!

We started this hike at the very bottom thinking it was only 2 miles round trip.....but found that it was quite a bit more than that. We had a limited amount of time and couldn't tell how close we were to the actual Falls. I will say the hike up was great (with only a few difficult areas due to incline) and the scenery was awesome! Would recommend and do again :)

This was a very nice, easy going trail with a beautiful waterfall at the end to cool off at and take some great photos! Trail was also very well kept.

Im wanting to hike Keekwulee and would like to know where we can park? I’m coming from eastern Washington. Help!

Are there any picnic tables nearby? We're hoping to set out early tomorrow morning, Saturday I think it's August 15th tomorrow
Written 14 August 2020
There are no picnic tables. Many people just find some flat rocks near the river and stop and have lunch. At the falls it's mostly rocky, but people do find spots to eat.

Is the road to Franklin falls open and is there still snow on the trail

We want to take the baby to this place. Is it convenient to bring the stroller and walk aling the trial?
Written 13 August 2018
I would not recommend bringing a stroller. The trail itself is not flat & smooth. Plus you are constantly walking up large log cabin stairs (large strides). Also with a striker, it will be very difficult to get from the trail to the waterfall. That part is very narrow and only one person at a time.

They are most likely not frozen but it will still be a beautiful hike! We were by Snoqualmie last week and it was raining.
