Wife, dog, and I walked/hiked the Evergreen Trail. Perfect weather and we did not see another person on the trail. One other car in the parking lot. Campground closed. We found the trails to be in good condition and virtually no mud, quite a few roots to watch out for but that is about it. Good signage but a little... More

Camped up here over 20 years ago, surprised to see the campground is closed. Small parking area with nice restrooms and picnic areas with tables. Hiking trails are everywhere here. Signage for the trails is fair. We did end up getting turned around a few times without a map. We spent about 4 hours walking the trails and enjoying the... More

This is a fully treed campground. We generally stay at the Howard Miller Steelhead Park across the highway from this one as it is on the river and is lighter with hiking trails along the river.

Very pretty well cared for picnic areas and restrooms. Hiked the evergreen trail, it was easy enough for anyone, nice old growth trees, very peaceful. Well maintained trails, this is bear and berry season, so be prepared and careful, I did not see any, but did make some noise while hiking.

This gave us our best chance to see undisturbed Pacific Coastal rainforest. We only had a couple of hours, but the Evergreen Trail took us straight into the old-growth forest, which was wonderful. Well worth the modest price of admission.

While talking with a park ranger, we asked where would be a good place for us to eat our picnic lunch. He directed us to take the first right when turning into RSP. What a wonderful, quiet place for a picnic (mid-September). The river was flowing just next to us as we ate at a picnic table. Rest room just... More
