We live in Tacoma. Driving to Poulsbo and back requires the toll for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and a crowded drive along WA-16/WA-3. Still, this bookstore is worth the drive. The staff is wonderful and very helpful and they have a great children's section as well. I always end up buying something here when I visit.

While visiting family in Poulsbo I took my eleven year old grandson to Liberty Books, his favorite downtown shop. He is a voracious reader and Wattpad author. They have a large section, for a small shop, that caters to younger readers. His latest enthusiasm is ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses. He is also very interested in Marvel super heroes. Liberty... More

They have so many lovely titles and items -- and they're willing to order anything they don't have! A perfect local bookstore!

We found this place just wandering around Poulsbo. It's a great book store if you like book stores. Books and book related stuff. the owner runs the cash register by the front door, and greets everyone with a smile. We browsed and talked, and need up with a book each and a couple off books on audio. Our mission was... More

This small indie bookstore packs a lot into its square footage. Great selection of books, periodicals and gifts. Knowledgable staff. Literary events including author talks and book groups. Its beloved by locals and tourists alike.

We never visit Poulsbo without a visit to this quaint bookstore. We discovered it about 7 years ago on one of our many trips to the Northwest from our home in Florida. My then 10 year old son was looking for something good to read. The lady in the shop told him about a new book called "The Hunger Games"... More

Was passing by just before closing time and the sale bin caught my eye...."The Rosie Effect"....another browsing customer commented it was a good read. The sales associate began the transaction and asked if I read the FIRST of the TWO. I didn't even know there was a first book in the series! So she promptly guided me to find *The... More

Independent book stores are becoming harder and harder to find. Liberty Bay Books is packed with selections and that wonderful feel of walking around in a maze rather than a grid. It keeps you finding more and more books you can't put down.
