Awesome buildings dating back many many decades (sorry didn't do any research on the capital, just drove around). No traffic, no parking issues, many pictures taken on a rainy day.

This building is very nice. I didn't learn much about Washington's history, but I did enjoy being able to walk around the building and take pictures. The gift shop was lovely and the ladies didn't seem to mind that we were shopping close to their closing time.

Washington State's capitol building has to be the most beautiful capitol building in the country. I seriously doubt that a building like it could be built today anywhere in the country. It is a visual splendor of superb architecture, marble, Tiffany chandeliers, and old-world craftsmanship. And our tour guide did justice to this magnificent building.

I was just kind of wandering around Olympia, when I decided to head up to the Capital for old times sake. I had graduated from the old Olympia High School when it was still across the street and my Dad had been the minister of the United Churches. Going thru those huge doors and up the stairs was a funny... More

Stopped on way back to Portland. The bldgs were closed as it was a Sunday but the area is so beautiful. There is a lake at the bottom of the hill with a beautiful park around it. The architecture is amazing. The governor's mansion and the surrounding homes are Victorian. Expansive lawns make it a perfect place for a nice... More

I love this building. It is stunningly beautiful inside and out. I especially enjoy walking through the marble lines hallways. It gives you such a sense of history;, of a time when craftsmanship was revered. Continual efforts to preserve and protect this building is an ongoing gift to the people of Washington State and its many visitors.

Plan for at least 3 hours to really explore the capitol building and the campus. There are memorials and statuary on the grounds. An excellent gift shop and information kiosk is also on the campus.

The Capitol building in Washington State and the campus of government buildings that surround it; should be on everyone's list when they visit this area. The Capitol campus is located on the southern tip of Puget Sound. The Capitol building is considered one of the most magnificent state capitol building in our country. The dome is 287 ft to the...
