We had done the entire day of ghost towns starting with Nighthawk, then Molson, backroads to Chesaw, Bodie. Molson was the best put-together assembly, but Bodie is literally what has been left. Maybe wear some gaters for snakes if visiting later in the summer, and...More

We went there expecting to see some few old crappy houses to find out that the place is amazing. A full town left behind with all it's day to day stuff. Time has frozen in Bodie. Each house is different with different furniture inside. Church,...More

Amazing this place has stayed in such remarkable shape. Don't get me wrong, the town is ragged. But it has not been destroyed by no-gooders. Really neat to see. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The drive can be super eventful if you are willing to read a map....More

Stopped here to kill a few hours. We have been to other ghost towns, but nothing compares to this one. A few hours isn't enough. It was so interesting! I would go back without hesitation.

We read about this place in a book and it was so very cool to see all the old homesteads and be a part of a very old experience. No ghosts seen lol but a lot of cool pictures taken!

You could spend a very long time here - there is so much to see. Lots of good historical information about the the boom and decline of this Gold Rush town. Only 5% of the town survives, but there is still a lot to explore....More

Went on a motorcycle -there is 10 miles of unsealed road in poor rutted corrugated condition however we made it ok. Interesting place - left to decay as it stands which is great -no commercialism here. Struggled to understand though why people in states insist...More

Bodies was once a thriving town when gold mining was all the rage! It has been very well preserved - down to vehicles and even the original overhead power lines that would carry the electricity from an early hydro power station many miles away. Lots...More

It was quite a way, about 7 miles from the main road the last 3 along a unmade road, but it was so worth the journey, a $5 entrance fee was worth far more. We wandered through the abandoned streets looking through windows of how...More

The town of Bodie was once at the site of a prosperous gold mine. However, little remains of the past glories. Instead, a handful of dilapidated buildings straddle a small country road. Visitors can explore both Bodie Creek, and the buildings, at their own risk....More

you are correct. Bodie, WA is only a few houses left. And it's far from Okanogan too.
