About
Skagit Valley is a popular destination in the early spring, when in late March through April, the acres upon acres of land suddenly burst to life. Boasting tulips of every shade, colour, and variety, its wild parks become the perfect spot to sit and take in the awe and majesty of nature, while its curated private gardens become an oasis of calm and beauty. Visitors from around the world flock to see, photograph, and be photographed with the vistas of flowers, which stretch out as far as the eye can see. They're sure to time their visit: some tulip varieties bloom in March, some in late April, and most blossoms only last for about two weeks. Equipped with a "Bloom Map", they explore the ambling fields and enjoy nature at their own pace.

- Christine M26 contributionsAbsolutely BeautifulMy husband and I were amazed at how beautiful everything was at the Tulip Festival. Everything was well run from parking, traffic control, and crowds. I heard from several people that this would be the closest thing to the Holland Tulip festival. I even showed my sister (who has been to Holland) the photos that we took and she agreed that it was like Holland. I couldn't take enough photos, and it's true what they say when pictures do not do it justice. Absolutely beautiful and so worth the trip.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 April 2024

The company, RoozenGarde, sells bulbs, of course, but doesn't ship them till October, which is when they should be planted.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 April 2024

My husband and I drove the short distance and found this well developed tulip farm. It looks like there may have been some smaller versions to visit as well. Here they had good, organized parking. Once you get on the grounds, you just wander from tulip variety to another. It is stunning. (May, 2023)Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 2 May 2024

The “company” promoting this event is truly the ones deserving of this rating. How dare they attempt to promote their city by placing a fuggazi location for this event in the center? The restaurants and road system are ill-equipped to handle any sort of influx of customers. The actual flowers are an hour away with traffic. Shame on you, Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. And yes, it’s also the same address on their website and instagram falsely promoting this “location.”

This picture is from one farm only, you will have to pay to park and get into the back of the buildings to see the tulips. This is lousy anymore, no flowers in the fields only commercialized farms. Waste of money and time. Skagit Valley is but no flowers. Go to your local nursey you will see more tuips.

This festival occurs during the month of April annually. It is a must-do for those in the Pacific Northwest. Imagine vast fields of color ribbons of tulips. Their are 4 gardens currently that allow guests to visit for a fee. Every photo you take comes out gorgeous. In rainy weather boots help.

Amazing tulips display was fantastic. Weather wasn’t great cold and ground mucky from previous rain. Staff friendly and welcoming at gates. We got tickets online and arrived early 9.30-10.00 not too many there. Lots of blooms to see all colours. Lots of photo opportunities. Surprisingly some people ignored the plentiful signs asking not to walk into the fields - I didn’t see staff around fields to ask them not to. By the time we were done and having a coffee there were hundreds more people arriving. Best to arrive early.

Staying here was an absolute pleasure. The owner ) was extremely helpful and professional and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The rooms were excellent and the trace area had . great view of fort and city. The overnight desert safari/camel ride organised from the hotel was also wonderful. Highly recommended.

My daughter and I flew from California to Seattle to visit the Tulip Festival. We bought timed entrance tickets for two fields. First we visited Tulip Town. Fields were much smaller and the free tractor ride they provided around a portion of the field kicked up so much dust that nearby tulips were caked in dirt and not as photogenic. The next day we visited Roozengarde fields and this visit was so much nicer. There were extensive well planted fields with all the colors you can imagine. Roozengarde provided field cut outs so that you could get a great photo without destroying the flowers. The photo ops were nicely curated. If I return, I would only attend Roozengarde. We visited April 19 and 20 and that was the perfect time.

How much is the admission fee?

How much is the admission fee?
Written 4 September 2018
There are multiple tulip gardens to visit and each is priced about the same. If I remember correctly, it is about $8 per person and then there's a family pass for $30. I thought that would cover all the gardens but it did not. Be aware that there are separate entrance fees for each garden you visit.
If you drive around the area, you will also see fields of tulips that you can pull off on the side of the road and take pictures.
We paid at Rozengaard, but didn't pay to see any other gardens.

Can people still come even after the festival ends 4-30-2018? Will there be tulips to see still?
Written 30 April 2018
Yes. You can always drive by the fields and snap photos from the road. The gift shop next to the gardens is open. The map and hours are on the individual farms websites. tulipfestivalorg. Roozengaarde and TulipTown are the names of the two farms. As of today their site says they are still blooming.

Today is 4/13/18 Friday. How much did the flowers bloom? 50%? 75%? Please let me know!

How is the drive from Seattle airport to Skagit Valley? I have been driving a lot in San Francisco but wanted to know if the drive is risky( due to mountains) or similar to San Francisco?
Written 12 April 2018
Rain and slow traffic.
Besides that, I-5 heading north is a relatively easy drive.

we are planning to visit on last weekend of April , wanted to know if any tulips will be in Bloom or all we get is wilted flowers ?
Written 2 April 2018
They should still be good. The rain slowed them down and many are just now showing their colors.
Written 12 April 2018
We plan to be there April 15th. But I hear they are in full bloom now. Will there be anything to see when we come. We planned this trip a year ago based dates of festival.
Written 25 March 2018
They are starting to show their colors right now. They will last several weeks with some new fields opening later. You should be GOod to grow... I mean go!
