After having seen several other beaches in the area, this beach wasn't that impressive. There was a lot of parking & a port-a-potty here.

A great place to visit, especially if you are staying in the resort right on the beach. There is a lot of driftwood and plenty of rocks to look at and sea glass. Would love to see it when the sun is out!

The scenery from the crescent shaped First Beach in La Push is incredible. There are huge "rocks" there, one in particular that the public is prohibitted to visit. It's an old burial ground for the chiefs of the Quileute tribes and also a place from...More

Great spot for sunset. We went there twice cuz we were there a little late the first night, but that gave a chance to see the moon and the dusk. Spectacular view with those big rocks (islands?!) sat there. Not sure if it's great spot...More

We are from the east coast. This beach was very different. The ocean washed stones and driftwood are beautiful.

This is an absolutely amazing beach. It is truly the first Pacific Coast beach experience I had and it was amazingly wonderful. It was a sun shining day, the sea was calm and the waves lapping against the shore made it so wonderful for walking....More

The beach has a lot of driftwood that create strange shapes. These are good for photos. It was a bit cool here, keep a jacket handy.

It's an easy hike of about a mile down to the most gorgeous sandy beach with inspiring imagination and soothing the soul with the sound of the ocean. It's very popular, and there are many people walking on this trail, and yet, we saw a...More

Hmmm. Not sure about that. I know you can do campfires. Check their local site to be sure.

What kind of shoes are recommended for walking/exploring the beach? I have a pair of Chacos that I typically wear to the beaches around here. But wondering if wellies (rainboots) would be a better choice.

The people I saw there were wearing sandals or no shoes, no one wore rainboots. The water is COLD but the locals were used to it. We parked next to a guy who just got out of the water after surfing and he didn't think the... More
Is it easy to get to 1st Beach from Forks? Is there signage? What about parking at the beach?

1st beach is about 15 miles west of Forks near the town on LaPush. As you are leaving Forks, there are signs. It is well worth the drive!
