Simply a hidden gem in the United States. No place like it anywhere. Have traveled and lived all over the country. There is no place like Chelan or Wenatchee.

We took the ferry from Chelan to Stehekin, WA, which is a 60 mile boat ride that takes about 3 hours, but well worth the time. Stehekin is only accessible by water, no roads go to the town. The scenery is great. Stehekin has a...More

It was very dry/sagebrush around the southern end of the lake and more forest as you go north. Lots of fruit orchards!
