Begun before Bellingham; still vibrant and attractive

The area has continued to adapt and grow, with a renewed community and populace, industries and spots for fine dining.

Clean, historical and full of charm and located right on the water with a great pier, this cute downtown area is much more charming than its counterpart. With some great restaurants, walkable areas, and just an overall really great vibe this should on your list when you are in town! Tip: From the main street you can see some great... More

I love Fairhaven, its a great place to go for a walk and relax. My favorite time is a spring Sunday. Walk the boardwalk, enjoy Village Books, get a bite of food.

Took the family here to walk around, eat lunch, and enjoy the sunshine. Plenty of cute restaurants and parking. Love Fairhaven!

Very nice little city feel, out door concerts, bay views, ferry docks, restaurants, ice cream, and nice locals to talk to.

Fairhaven is one of my favorite places in Bellingham. I have often recommended it as a place to stay for business travelers as well. Everything is within walking distance. You can enjoy great shopping, restaurants, art galleries, book shops and walks. There are also nearby bike trails!

Fairhaven is a charming historic community. It is filled with great coffee shops, restaurants, breweries, and one of the best bookshops in Washington. Plan to spend at least several hours or more.

Very nice place to stop in. Shops, good food, very touristy but hey, it works! Most stuff is pretty much to be expected. We did find a few really interesting jewelry shops that seemed unique complained to most. The Irish place right in the center was very fun.

Fairhaven is a great place to spend a few hours browsing and window shopping. This is the Historic District of Bellingham, so even newly constructed buildings have the brick flavor of the area. There is something for everyone here, a toy store for kids, an excellent book store, a variety of shops, a couple hotels, and plenty of mostly-casual restaurants.... More

It was a chilly, windy day in March but we loved walking around this lovely little town. Everywhere you look there is something to see, lots of great shops, coffee places, cafes. Certainly worth a detour off I-5 to check this place out.
