This is a amazing park to stop at even if it is just for a day visit. There's lots of cool hiking trails and majestic views of the Pacific Ocean. Plenty of locations where you can sit out on a rock ledge and overlook the water. Great for a sunny day adventure.

This is a beautiful place to spend the afternoon. I first visited this park in 1980 while attending Western Washington University. It's quiet and peaceful and a good place to relax. Over the years it has changed very little. It's still a delightful place to picnic. I highly recommend the drive along Chuckanut Drive for beautiful vistas of Puget Sound... More

I have biked from home to there and back several times. The park has some nice trails. This is what makes living in Bellingham great!

I should start off by saying that I hike regularly; like six out of seven days of the week and I try to climb hills to get those calories burned off. We were visiting family and need to get some fresh air, so we decided to try the Fragrance Lake hike. We went on an overcast day in November, and... More

We didn't get to the park until after 4 PM. Unfortunately the sunset at about 4:35 PM. The trail that we quickly hiked was heavily treed with peek a boo views of the water. Unfortunately we had to cut our visit short when the sun started to go down.

this is an interesting spot for inter tidal pools depending on the tide when you're there. Great views, great picture taking spots.

The steady climb on the Fragrance Lake trail is worthwhile. The tranquil lake and wooded surroundings made us forget we live in an urban area. We like that the trailhead was close to the Larabee State Park parking area. We encountered a few others on the trail in early September, but it's not crowded like some of our usual King... More

I visit and hike national, state and county parks in Washington State in Skagit, Chelan and Whatcom counties. I am nearly always completely satisfied with trail quality and markings. Larrabee State Park was an unfortunate outlier. There are no clear trail markers, and the trails themselves are neither well-marked or well-maintained. It is not a bad experience hiking there, but... Perhaps it was because I am not that much used to a wild-life park concept, where you face the intact nature at it's purest (or almost purest); but to me that was a breathtaking experience. We took a hike to a viewpoint overlooking the ocean and nearby islands. All the way the curving trail was surrounded by a phantasmagoric maze... More

At either the boat launch or the park you can walk the shore or the trails along the top. This is a nice place to hear the ocean. There is a fee to park if you do not have a pass.

Thank William O
