Battlefield had very informative marks along the walking route. Would have been nice to have someone there to ask questions.

This is an easy trail for families. The scenery is good, the trail is quiet, and you can learn a bit about a very historical battle in Winchester! Recommended!

Great walking, hiking, biking trail. Parking lots on either end of the battlefield. Parts are paved, but mots of it is gravel. The trail breaks off in different areas but it all meets up again at the main trail. Some of the trail is in...More

I have walked these trails in all seasons and at all times of the day, but have found that they may be best appreciated in the evening, just before sunset. There is not much shade towards the north end of the battlefield, so during the...More

Easy flat trails both gravel and paved. Incredibly scenic views. Great for walks, running, bike riding and a little time with the fur babies. There is also something for the history buff and the casual and avid photograph.A day at Third Winchester Battlefield is a...More

History is what you learn from. This location is well marked for what happened here and has some great walking (and biking) trails.

I love the idea of preservation of battlefields but this battlefield is not being well kept. The bridge across the stream was dangerous. You could see where large trees were cut and just left in piles. It looked like there were piles of mulch and...More

This is a hidden gem in Virginia. Good historical markers and beautiful scenery. I rate it very good because I wouldn't want to be there alone. Feels a little sketchy at times.

The battlefield has been kept to resemble how it looked in 1864. There is an easy walk of up to 5 miles through the rolling countryside; placards describe the battle. While hiking, saw a fox.

Signs are well place. Learn about the biggest battle in Winchester. Nice scenery on this walk. One part gets kinda confusing where to walk but the path is well maintained.

I am not sure there are hours really. It is open pasture and trails for 5 miles. I would assume like most parks or trails they are closed at dusk.
